During the partial closure of Pearson Road, Skeel Avenue will be used as a detour route. Slight traffic delays are possible. An aerial view above highlights the project location and affected areas. Pedestrian sidewalks will also be closed along Pearson Road.

Forming faculty learning communitiestoexplore inno- vativeways to leverage tech- nology in the classroomand create meaningful learning opportunities for students is a newproject for the center.

In-per- son or virtual consultation and collaboration appoint- ments are also offered to students, faculty, and staff. I thinkwrit- ingcentersatuniversities just have that student focus, but also able to bring some of those resources to faculty aswell, both for their own research and publica- tion, or as they work with students on their thesis or dissertation, and then also withstaffwhoareworkingon their own reporting or busi- ness said Carolyn Stoermer, CIE writing and communications specialist.

The impetus for creating the CIE came fromactivities itation process completed in 2021. AFIT followed the Higher Learning Commis- Open Pathway option for reaccreditation which focusesonquality assurance and institutional improve- ment through the develop- ment of a quality initiative proposal. The purpose of QIP was to identify ways to improve the learning expe- rience for students and the teaching environment for all instructional personnel. Faculty andstaff fromacross schools served on QIP committees and one of the recommendations was to develop a teaching and learning center. Providing guest lecture to classes has helped to intro- duce the CIE to faculty and students.
