DAYTON JOURNAL, TUESDAY. JULY 22, 1941. BRACHER SCANS THE NEW INCOME TAX LAW WITH EXPERT'S EYE Helps Individuals To Ownership of Their Own Homes ti ll "This new income tax law is tough. Besides, Uncle Sam is no respecter of persons, when it comes to paying your income tax," said Charlie Bracher, former revenue chief during the hectic days of national prohibition, when government sleuths kept a weather eye on the earnings of bootleggers and rum runners. As a matter of fact, Uncle Sam now wants a "cut" from sweepstakes, numbers and bingo, Bracher continued.

The 60-year-old tax veteran is now located at 408 Beckel building and is prepared to help anyone with hia tax problems. Before the end of each month for many years past a number of Dayton property owners have received their rental checks through Mr. Davis offices. The cost of this service i3 small.

Particularly during the hot weather are motorists glad to drive their cars into these modern parking garages. They thus avoid parking outside where the car is subjected to scorching heat, and they find that for only five cents more they can enjoy the privileges of indoor parking.

Parking for three hours only costs 25 cents. At the First Street garage the visitor finds services that are typical. Here are commodious waiting rooms with all facilities for car occupants to tarry while they are getting their group together for the homeward trip. Here is a brick and concrete garage of modern type with a capacity of over 500 cars, and five floors all reached by specially built ramps from one floor to the other on a nine per cent grade. And, here will be found skilled, courteous individuals who are bent upon rendering the speediest and best service to patrons who want to get their cars off the streets and enjoy the pleasure of safe, practical and economical parking.

The First Street garage is locally-owned, and is under the management of Walter J. Shroder, "Those who are furnishing homes today are appreciating the beauty and richness of many of the earlier American designs, such as is mirrored in the exquisite table of genuine wild cherry shown above," said C. W. Maloney, furniture dealer, 924 St. Nicholas avenue.

'This piece is in keeping with the early American types of homes that are being so widely accepted in modern architecture. Unusual in its three pedestals, with rope turnings, the table has the pedestals stabilized to eliminate side sway." It i3 very compact. With leaves down, its size is 29 by 42 inches, and with leaves extended it measures 42 by 60 inches. It may be further extended to 100 inihes with the four 10-inch removable leaves provided. The price of the table ia very attractive.
